by Patrick Sutherland It is important to have a clear indication of restaurant start up costs before you rush in and put your money at risk. You really should have access to more than $100,000 in funding to start up in the restaurant game and maybe much more depending on the plans that you have in mind. Many restaurant entrepreneurs run out of money during the first year of their restaurants existence and have to shut due to the fact that they did not reach profitability as rapidly as they thought.

By Eva Maria Norlyk It’s official: The credit card party is over. Pundits have long proclaimed it from the rooftops. If we consumers had any doubt about the wisdom of their words, we need only open the next letter from our credit card company announcing yet another credit limit cut or rate increase to arrive at the very same truth: Indeed, the party is over. Ah, yes. Those days when easy credit flowed like milk and honey are long gone.

by Jack Porterfield Although the economy is slowly emerging from the last recession, there are still several people, who are submerged in the pile of debts and by any means they simply want to get rid of that. One of the most common debts is the credit card debt. Are you also one of those people? Then don’t loose your hope, as you can substantially reduce or can even completely eliminate your credit card debt. Many of the people never know when their day to day small purchases added up to such a large debt that now it became a nuisance for them.

Daren Singh There are many reasons why people these days seem to be finding it difficult or even impossible to pay their monthly credit card payment because of the high interest rates. The economy has affected large multi-million and multi-billion dollar companies with lay offs in many different fields of business. There is a trickle down affect for many people and families. Many credit card companies have been sending pre-approved credit card applications with your name pictured right on the image with a credit card.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has revealed a package of measures to protect consumers in the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) market and ensure they are better treated when buying PPI or complaining about it. Single premium PPI products have long been controversial, particularly with consumer watchdogs who claim that the policies are misleadingly front-loaded, accrue outrageous interest, and have strict pay-out terms and conditions.

We all like the idea of setting aside a nice chunk of money in a savings account and putting it to work for us, but it’s a bit easier said than done — if you want the best rates, you have to choose from one of hundreds of CDs and savings account products offered by various banks, each of which has its own rates and restrictions. BillShrink , the startup that targets a variety of verticals to help users save money, is launching a new service today that looks to help make this decision much easier.

If you are like most Americans, you often use credit cards for your purchases.  Behind the scenes, when you swipe your credit or debit card through the machine, the merchant pays a small fee to their bank (i.e. interchange fee) for the ability to accept credit card transactions.  Let us be blunt about this: if the business wants your money, then they would be smart to pay these fees because cash transactions are becoming rarer with each passing day.  ‘Cash only’ businesses are becoming a thing

I mentioned something the other week about my life exploding. It does that, from time to time, and I’m not sure if it’s an outward explosion as much as it is the disaster in my own head leaking out like biowaste, but the long and the short of it is that I am terrible with money. Just awful. I have bills, but in the past I have moved often and forgotten to reroute my mail or forgot I had certain bills, only to remember them six, eight, ten months later when the shit has not only hit the fan but

The key words “cash back” appeal to everyone, especially those who are on the lookout for more reasons to use their credit cards. It is even safe to say that this would arouse the curiosity of most people to at least find out how this concept works. In fact, the recent hype surrounding cash back credit cards has seen millions of consumers switching their regular cards for these ones. It all seems too good to be true that we are getting our money back for nothing.

In the U.S, there are two programs that allow students to consolidate their loans, these include: the FDLP (Federal Direct Student Loan Program) and the FFELP (Federal Family Education Loan Program). The loans that can be included within the consolidation are PLUS loans, Federal Perkins Loans and Stafford Loans. Consolidation includes reducing one’s monthly payment to a more affordable fee as well as expanding the time needed in order to pay the loan back.

Credit Card Debt Consolidation services can make it happen, and there’s no doubt about it. There’s no reason to delay and nothing to lose. Credit card debt consolidation can also help you avoid creditor harassment , one of the main elements that trigger stress induced health problems. Credit card debt consolidation usually makes the combined balance more manageable especially if a lower interest rate is provided. But, if there are multiple other accounts involved that were not part of the consolidating effort, it may take some time to get them all reduced to a manageable level.

If a credit card company will not offer you a lower rate, consider applying for a new card with a lower interest rate. With a Visa credit card, you can get cash at more than 840,000 ATMs in the Visa Global ATM Network. Credit card consolidation is not a miracle solution for those with multiple credit cards Charge cards, such as American Express and Diners Club, usually have no credit limit. The credit card provider should also inform you what rate will be charged before you start using the credit card.

Using Prepaid Credit Cards As An Alternative For Your Student Loan

College can be a tough time for parents. First, you see your children leaving the protection of home where you cannot monitor their lives. It is a struggle giving up that power and not knowing if your children are in danger. Second, the college years is an expensive time when money always seems tight.
You do not want them getting into student credit card debt, but you want them to have something in case of an emergency. Unsecured credit cards are everywhere but may not be the right answer to helping them learn financial responsibility. Why not try prepaid credit cards as a solution?
Prepaid credit cards are very similar to unsecured credit cards and can be used anywhere bank credit cards, MasterCard or Visa credit cards, or debit cards can be used. The difference is that the prepaid card acts more like a debit card. You deposit money into the account and your child can only use that amount.
There is no need to worry about them going over the limit and you can track how much money they are spending on a monthly basis. An additional bonus is in knowing that your child is learning how to manage their money.
So why use a prepaid credit card instead of bank credit cards? The first reason is that a bank one can exceed the balance in the checking account if it is linked to the account. This can cause over limit fees to rapidly accumulate.
A bank one, if it is not tied to the checking account, is reliant upon credit scores. If your child has not established a credit rating, then he or she can be turned down. Each time a lender runs an application, the credit score can be harmed and lowered. This perpetuates the cycle of applying and then the subsequent denial, based on the credit scores.
Prepaid credit cards can also be given as gifts. If you do not know what to get your student for his or her birthday or graduation, a prepaid card can be perfect. Unlike a gift card from a particular store, a prepaid credit card can be used anywhere that accepts credit or debit cards.
It is a responsible way to learn how to use credit, without the worries of a monthly bill. For students in college, this can be the start of a great future with a good credit score. Think of it as helping your child to learn responsible spending, without the worry of huge interest rates.

For those with damaged credit, some credit cards may charge an application fee. Rule #2 of Investinglherr.org

Rule #2 of investing is really a corollary of Rule #1 in that the focus is still on saving.  Discipline and patience are the watch words of rule #2.  While a lot of space on this blog is devoted to portfolio construction and asset allocation, all those words of advice ring hollow if one has nothing with which to allocate.  Therefore, set up a regular savings program.  From experience, the best way I know to save is to have a certain percentage taken out of the paycheck each month and placed in a
